2008 ADULT VOLLEYBALL TEAM REGISTRATION INFORMATION Click Here for Full Packet & Registration Forms The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (H.A.R.D.) is currently organizing volleyball leagues for the 2008 Spring/Summer Season. WHAT LEAGUES ARE AVAILABLE TO MY TEAM? SPRING LEAGUE (May – July 2008) Entry Deadline-Friday, April 25th, 5:00 pm League Play tentatively scheduled to start May 5th SUNSET GYMNASIUM Monday Wednesday Thursday Women’s & Men’ Co-Ed “B&C” Co-Ed “C&D” *If there is enough interest and space allows, other leagues may be added. League classifications, deadline dates, start dates and gym assignments are tentative and subject to change. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Team entry fee is: $450.00 Fees cover an 8 or 10 match season (depending on the number of team entries) plus post season playoffs including officiating costs, facility use, league administration, equipment use/replacement and awards. WHAT NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN BY DEADLINE DATE? New & Returning Teams -- completed TEAM SIGN-UP FORM and TEAM ENTRY FEE OF $450.00. Make check payable to H.A.R.D. Teams wishing to pay by credit card may do so only at the H.A.R.D. District office, 1099 “E” Street. Teams should indicate a first, second and third choice of “League” on Team Sign-up Form whenever possible. Final team rosters will be due at teams rating nights (see below) WHERE DO I SIGN UP? All Mail-in, Credit Card or walk-ins are accepted at the H.A.R.D. District Office, 1099 “E” Street, Hayward, 94541. Walk-in registrations accepted at the H.A.R.D. Sports Office at the San Lorenzo Community Center, 1970 Via Buena Vista, San Lorenzo. Office Phone (510) 317-2314; Fax (510) 317-2302. WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS THE DEADLINE? Teams not making the deadline will be placed behind teams that do and be registered on a first come first served basis until all spots are filled. Avoid waiting until the very last day if at all possible. Teams will be notified in a timely manner either by phone or by mail of acceptance. WHAT IS THE TEAM RATING NIGHT? Team rating nights are used for placement of new teams and returning teams with roster changes of more than 50% of previous league's roster or changes that incorporate ranked players of higher classifications. If needed, league rating nights will be held the week prior to the start of league play. Teams will be notified of rating night and times. *Listed divisions, scheduled league nights & locations are subject to change. WHAT DO WE WIN IF WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS? All leagues will receive First and Second place individual awards. WHAT SYSTEM IS USED TO ACCEPT TEAMS IN THE LEAGUES? The following PRIORITY RATING SYSTEM will be used: PRIORITY #1: Returning Teams from previous season. PRIORITY #2: New Teams as space allows. Team Rosters will be ranked on a point system. Two (2) points for a Hayward Area Sponsor, one (1) point for each Hayward Area Resident. (Hayward Area = Hayward, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Ashland, Cherryland, Fairview and a portion of the 94578 zip code in San Leandro.) Call 881-6700 if you need verification of addresses.
